They don’t technically have to slide. 5 or 10 years ago I found a good deal on “track lighting” that does not slide, each “track” was available with either 2 or 3 ‘pointable’ light fixtures. They where only around $30 each. I can’t seem to find anything in that price range now.

The lamps are twisted on and you can move them where you want them along the track. The ceiling electrical outlet in the breakfast room is in an odd location and I need a fixture that is flexible and I can have the light where I need it.
To be precise, I need two lamps to highlight art on one wall, two lights for the opposite wall and one light down over the breakfast table.
Is that too much to ask?

The metal track is standard, about one inch wide with a plastic core inside. I need to shorten it before installing on the ceiling and i am not sure how as I am new to this home improvement stuff and do not own a saw. What do I need? Thank you.
